肩の痛み (Shoulder Pain)

Few days ago was a quite unlucky day for me.. Why? Because of a sprained shoulder due to bad sleeping position. Can't even turn my head to the right without feeling the pain. Nothing much that can be done but to suck it up and massage the affected part.


Anyway just met up with an old friend which I haven't seen in more than 6 months. First thing he said, 'fei jor wo' (you gain weight already). LOL i missed the cliche 'long time no see' or 'wazzzup!' Greeting this days is like taking a shot at someone just for the fun and laughter before getting down to business.
But it is nice seeing him healthy and all.

I've found out that i missed out alot since i seldom hang with the guys. First is another buddy broke up wit his long time gf. To those who know them, I won't know if it is a bless or tragedy, go figure.
And another news is an acquaintance I've known few years back passed away last month in a freak domestic accident at her rented place which she moved out to alone. I won't divulge any details but just wanna express my condolence to her family.

As an advice to those who read this, cherish what you have now and make full use of the time you have now for you will never know when the clock stops ticking for us

病院への旅行 (A trip to the hospital)

A beautiful but hot morning... I must say the weather has been a bit freaky these past few days, sudden rain to hellish sunny day, really messes up anybody's mood .

Yesterday was abit of a down day for me. Why? Because my grandma was admitted to the hospital due to the medicine's incompatibility. Dizziness and heavy breathing after medication have us getting off the edge. Thus 2 of my aunts and I decided to go for a checkup in the nearby Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) located near Pahang roundabout. At first, we thought everything was ok and medicine will be replaced but the doctor said she needs to be admitted to the hospital for further observation. Did all the registration and etc, and off we go the the ward.

Here comes the problem. As all of you know, HKL is well known for it's lackability in providing edequate carparks for the staffs and the visitors. Even the Star newspaper cover the story before a month ago. Come on HKL, the entire facility is enormous so please make room for some carpark for the visitors. You should know 1 line of traffic throughout the hospital would be frustrating for us and for you guys.. Nonetheless, I do like the courteous and friendly staff there, salvaging my day from being ruined by the frustration caused by the jam.

Before ending my post, I would like to share with you a funny incident when I was there. A mentally challenged man was brought there by his family for treatment, but it requires an injection. Problem is, the big dude don't like being stuck by something and this creates additional problem for the staffs. They tried various tactics to persuade him to be injected resulting in him dashing out of the clinic screaming "I don't want injection, it kills people". Having trouble with the soft mean to bring him in, the staffs and the family resorted to the harsher treatment; bringing in the men in blue LOL It took a few officers to restrain him and to strap him on the bed. Finally the ruckus is over with the big dude being tranqualised and brought to la-la land ^^

仕事の捜索 (Job searching)

Yo~ pardon my for my late post

Just recapping about my past week here. Nothing much, just the same old job searching in newspaper and the internet. Had lots of interview some which i applied for, some not. Result so far? - not fruitful as those i applied for still have not send me any replies (on the bright side, it is still within the timeframe @@), AND I've got jobs offered to me which i have no interest at all. One of them... junior creative position in an advertising/design firm in phileo damansara.. Ouch~

One thing I've learned so far is it is really hard trying to apply for jobs which is different from the course you took. No, I'm not talking about those admin or customer service positions but a real steady job. There is no entry level position these days for those jobs which are considered 'nice' by old standards lol

So here is the million dollar question, "Does the paper/certificate make the man?"

I've read through alot in newspaper, magazines and online about this. There are alot for it and also against it.
Some say it is not about the qualifications because there are tonnes of degree holders out there without the analytical thinking which is required and only able to write on papers. I do agree here because if I'm the employer, I don't need my employee to show me on graph and papers about doing a job but those with a hands-on skill. In short, they are N.A.T.O. (No action, Talk only) and I'm not referring to the world's organisation just to be clear >_<

Then again, there is those who say the qualification is the proof that one is able to achieve and pass something under certain standard. It is the test which seperates you from the rest through a proper distict standard in the marking system. Well, I do have to agree to this one as well..

No, I'm not being the long tall grass which sways in whatever direction the wind is blowing >_<
but they do have a point there. So it is up for you guys to think which is correct here

Anyway I will just continue to apply for jobs outside my field of studies, hoping that I'm lucky enough to find a company which will accept me lol
A word of advice for those who just got their SPM result, apply for a tertiary study to things that interest you, not what your parents want or what you think is glamorous because sometimes those unexpected things will be what you might be missing out on. Explore!

津波 (Tsunami)

My official post after a very very long time..
Don't worry, will be completely active after this since I'm quite free now while job hunting and looking after my grandma ^^

Anyway straight on to the topic today, even though I prefer a more cheerful topic but as written above, it is quite a tragedy,
On the 11th of March 2011, an earthquake with the magnitude of 8.9 has struck Japan's coastal region near the Sendai prefecture during the rush hour. I followed up on this story on the CNN after viewing a sudden surge of video on Facebook.

Never cross my mind that an earthquake with such a force (biggest in Japan since records ever started) would hit Japan just one day after China's earth of a 5.8mag on Thursday.

Sadly to say, while other countries rushed to help the victims in Japan, Malaysia started with a cartoon picture on the Berita Harian depicting Ultraman running away from a tidal wave. How insensitive of them to post the image as if they are mocking and making fun of people's suffering. There are quite a furore over this matter in the Internet as Seputih MP Theresa Kok posted it in her FB page. This shows the declining quality in our country's journalism has sunk into.

Next would be the news of our PM's wife, Rosmah Mansor commenting on the tragedy. Quoting/translating "Let this earthquake be a lesson to other countries. In whatever future task that they want to execute, they should study it first and implement green technology to it"
Common, Japanese is well known for their effort in green technology. Mrs Rosmah, please take note of our current buildings in Malaysia, leaking Parliament, crumbling stadium, cracking house and etc, do look into your own backyard before commenting on others.

Lastly, I wish to show my outmost admiration for the Japanese people. In dire times, they still uphold their civility by lining up for evacuation/food, helping one another, being patient and etc. Unlike other countries, they DO NOT LOOT, HURT or RAPE others. Truly the best. Anyway, god bless and worry not for the rest of the world is behind you all the way (except the snubby ignorant politician and personel here LOL)
