ダンディマン (Dandyman/Metrosexual)

As time flies, society changes. Gender equility emerges and women are holding high ranked jobs and more men are found in the field where it was dominated by the women (cooking, nursing and so on). This is where the urban society spawned a genre or breed of people. The female known as the Sophisticate, the one who is in control of her independence, individuality and above all, strong. They are the women that make men felt as if their balls just shrunk into the crotch area (@_@). These women deserve respect and make some of their sisters (those who always try to act kawaii, sheesh) look like an irritating parrot. As for the males, they are defined as the Metrosexual which is my topic of this post. For those who don't understand the term, here is a easier definition.

Sophisticated

  • Strong, sensual, confident, independent, dependable, wise

Metrosexual may not be the usual image of what a husband should be (big, well built, know how to repair cars & etc). Instead he is self absorbed is confident of his sexuality as he is of himself. He can also make the perfect companion for shopping, knowledgable about healthcare as much as his wife/girlfriend. This man enjoys spending on making himself look good because he takes pleasure in it. He is also a narcissistic and will keep you guessing if you are the object of his admiration. He is a vain and self-assured, with the soul of a poet while emotionally liberated. Very much in tune with his feminine side and unrestrained in his show of affection, this makes him an easier partner to talk about emotions but don't expect him to open up as you would hope he would be.

Metrosexual
  • Fashionable, in touch with inner feminine, house chore-able, understanding, vain , NOT GAY

The result of the birth of this two genre? Unisex beauty spas with complete facial treatment are blooming. Smoothing pitted face, surgery to a better face and figure and eyebrow embroidery are among the few process that are widely done by men these days. So girls, time to step off the beauty throne and let the guys have their share of it. It's the era where both gender can take pride in looking good and desired. ^^

The question is how would the society perceived these new-age male? Most probably they will stare at the metrosexual and "Yeerr, freaking faggots. Gay! You ain't gonna make a windpipe out of my genitals". Oh I am referring the concentional community found here (Yes we are concentional unlike the Western or Asians like Japaneses or Koreans). And I must repeat, THEY ARE NOT GAY (a common misconception. If they are, I would have call them so in the first place, and a new word Metrosexual won't be created to distinguish between them). For the ladies, get used to the men spending as much time and money on themselves as you all do. Bottom line the Metrosexual waves are coming to town whether you like it or not, so just accept it.

For those who wish to have a relationship with them, here's an advice; know their type and move on from there. Within all those negative remarks about them, there are in fact quite a lot of benefits on dating a metrosexual. First would be his passion on emotion which would help you greatly in case you are depressed. It is because they can be a perfect partner for you to talk to, not to mention a flawless shopping companion. Then a metrosexual is the perfect candidate to share household responsibilities, a rare trait in our society these days, compared to the usual ideal manly male. Ask yourself this, do you ever see those muscular chauvinist male helping you with the chores? Remember the cliche from them, "The only place for a woman is the kitchen". Even if they do, they might end up breaking things. Reminds me of Stanley Kowalski from A Streetcar Named Desire. So do I need to explain more? No right? Furthermore, a metrosexual is a being who is in touch of his feminine side, with this versatility, it makes him ideal to understand you as the opposite gender.

Nevertheless it would be a good idea to prepare your parents beforehand when they first meet him. LOL

男 vs女 (Men vs Women)

"He says, she says" a basic cliche in life which we heard every now and then.
As you can see, talking is considered the strongest form of negotiation we have and yet it could lead to a terrible misunderstanding. Before I go any further, don't get me wrong, I ain't no chauvinist and just interpreting what I had read/know.

Why can communication be so difficult and stresses you out when both parties speaks a common language. Here's the problem, they don't =..=
Perhaps the word is the same, yet they are perceived as different message by each individual.
One might come across a person as shy or uninterested because he is not talking much, while other felt his partner is a dick monopolising the conversation. In reality, they do not understand each other's liguistic style or how to make adjustments for it. Don't worry, this comes with practise and experience.

Differences between men and women
Here's the reality, women tend to focus more on rapport (relationship of mutual trust) while men are concerned with status. A bunch of BS you might say, but read on lol

Oh of course i am referring to them in general, not all are like what is said, but most of them is. So please don't be offended or say this is not true. If it is not, then congratulations, you are in the special groups. I am sure you are. ^^

The girls socialise in small groups, talk more and focus on equility. While men do it in a large groups with unequal standing. They tend to display position and knowledge. This can be explain by the guy's own version of olympics on "how far you can shoot?" and "how long is yours?" during the youth period which clearly determine ranks. Contest all the time =..=
Don't even bother to deny it. Every guys I met admitted to it. And woman, don't "yerrr" at us about how disgusting it is. I am sure you girls have your own fair share of it in different ways.

It is part of growing up~~ We humans are primitive because most of our actions are driven by instinct being justified by rationality.

To be more percise, here are a few topic that we often encountered

Questions
How one ask questions depends on the situation. You might be perceived ignorant if you are the only one asking questions.
Men view this as losing face. Therefore resulted in (for example) men are less likely to ask for advice in the class. They would prefer one on one situation where nobody is watching.

Women on the hand view this as a sign of interest and men would tend to form a negative view regarding this matter.

Apologies
Men mostly take "I'm sorry" literally and they less likely to apologise and will ignore/side-step the issue unless it is needed direly. Therefore don't expect to often see a man to apologise. They have the balls to sky dive but they put them in the fridge when they are expected to apologise.
Women will most likely to use the phrase to express sympathy. This can be define by how often you heard a woman say "I'm sorry for what I did."? You might always hear this "I'm sorry this happen to you."

Indirectness
Women tend to be indirect when giving orders while men are direct about admitting their faults. For example, in a situation where a couple are planning to give a present to their old friend. Here's the expected conversation

Wife - "Let's get a plush toy or a crystal ornament to A".
Husband - "Uh, okay" or "What is A going to use the items for? It doesn't serve them in any way." [continue reading the news]
Wife - You know what? Don't bother.

Woman in this situation is trying to get their partner to involve in the decision in getting the present. The man will think "Why you are asking me when you already figured out what to buy?" and they will also analyze the worth of the present in term of usefulness than a form of spiritual term which is perceived by the woman. If they know the wife is trying to get him involve in deciding, they would say "Why couldn't you said so in the first place? It definitely will caused both of us less problem"

I am sure all of you have come across this situation before. In short, understand that both gender perceive words differently before you start judging them.

Feedback
Women tend to soften the impact of negative feedback by complimenting the good behaviour first. The guys will see the first points raised as the most important and will view the comment next as less important regardless of it is good or bad.

Woman - Hey this drawing is good. Such refine work. But it is quite poorly coloured.
Compliments > Condemnation later

Tips for a better relationship is to understand how a man/woman thinks before start judging them.

ヘア ー 私たち毎日のアクセサリー (Hair - An accesory we wear every day)

Well started with the first post (will be posting more in this few days in order to squeeze what i intend to write when I haven't started with blogs in the past)

A friend of mine asked if my coloured hair (in the past, now have different hairstyle) poses a problem/
Problem as in damages dealt to the hair in term of health, parental judgment against it based on moral and society view

Well let me clarify it for those who are not sure about it

The traditional old school society who tend to judge on looks
I know it well since i used to be bombarded with cynical comments back in the days .
They said that long dyed hair makes you look like thugs or illegal vcd seller.
I was like, "wtf?
what era are you in? The stone age?
Well, sorry to tell them that alot of the vicious and brutal criminal these days are those with the appearance of a neat person. A demon in an angel's attire. Serial killers & rapists, more and more are found to be from the so called "ideal looks" from the perspective of the conventional society. Try reading the newspaper, you fossils.
Don't get me wrong, all I am saying is the one who look good doesn't mean he is an angel or the one who is bad looking is bad person

Bottom line is don't be so fast to judge people by their cover

A word of advice, just follow you heart as long as you are ready for criticism and be on the right track in life. You will need it in our typical society.

Now lets head to the myth of hair colouring
As we all know, colouring your hair makes you look more bright as in not gloomy, it also can brighthen up your skin complexion. Now here is truth to hair colouring as had been researched and opinion based on professional hair artist which I had read in the past

1) Coloring your hair makes it dry
-True with repeated colouring. This makes hair more porous and fragile, which made this type of hair often feels dry. Consult with your hairstylist to suit your needs

2) Colouring your hair will turn it grey
- Bullshit is the answer. Hair only turns grey as part of pre-determined genetic make-up. At some point in life, the hair follicle stops making melanin grains (your natural hair colour), so it is left with no pigment resulting in total whiteness

3) Colouring makes your hair drop
- False again. Colour molecule do not in any way affect the hair follicle. The part of hair that is coloured is the external hair fibre which is not living.

Anyway hope that it helps, just remember that colour your hair accordingly, don't be extravagant. Bear in mind that it will also burn a hole in your pocket.

That's all for now, see you again~
